Tplaqín / Enderby Cliffs are a place of natural majesty that hides a profound history awaiting your discovery.

GLACIERS & VOLCANOES

Tplaqín / Enderby Cliffs were formed when glacial ice met volcanic rock.  A testament to the monumental power of Nature, the Tplaqín / Enderby Cliffs tower into the sky and stand guard over the Shuswap River below.

TRADITIONAL TERRITORY

Splatsin, the caretakers of this, their traditional territory, called the Enderby Cliffs “Tplaqín,” which means “cliffs.”  The area was renamed to Tplaqín / Enderby Cliffs in 2025, in recognition of its spiritual and historical significance.

PROTECTIVE SHRINE

Many years ago, a farmer who tilled the soil nearby built a shrine to protect hikers.  The shrine continues to stand as a place of meditation and reflection for those who visit Tplaqín / Enderby Cliffs .

RARE ECOSYSTEM

Tplaqín / Enderby Cliffs blends several distinct ecosystems into a fascinating hybrid that is home to deer, moose, cougar, bobcat, lynx, marten, bears, eagles, turkey vultures, and songbirds.
